I am a grower of terrestrial orchids. For a couple of years now, I have been using more orchid bark in my mixes. Quite simply Orchiata Bark is the best product of its kind I have encountered. It is largely free of dust and bits of wood and cambium and is available in four sizes. The individual pieces of bark are quite solid and chunky, rather than flat and flaky, giving a very good structure that allows good ventilation. I understand it is treated to remove pests and improve its useful life. 'Power' is the third largest size and I use it for crocking my pots. Of course, mixed with perlite and charcoal it is excellent for epiphytic orchids as well. I can recommend it.
